Diagnostic error found in care of 23% of patients who died or were transferred to ICU
The most common causes of diagnostic errors were assessment and testing issues, according to an analysis of patients who were transferred to an ICU, died, or both while hospitalized with general medical conditions at any of 29 academic centers in 2019.

Higher hospitalist workload associated with slightly longer length of stay
A patient load of 16 patients, compared to 13, was associated with a small, but statistically significant, increase in length of stay. However, there was no association between workload and ED visits or readmissions in the single-center observational study.
