Hospitalizations involving alcohol, other substance disorders increased by 57% in recent years
A study of U.S. acute care visits from 2014 to 2018 found that on average, 9.3 million (9.4%) ED visits and 1.4 million (11.9%) hospitalizations per year involved alcohol use disorders or substance use disorders, with rates of both increasing over time.

Care disparities, barriers common in homeless patients hospitalized for acute MI

No sedation, light sedation associated with similar outcomes in ventilated ICU patients
