Latest COVID-19 studies look at proning awake patients, residual lung abnormalities
A meta-analysis found that prone positioning of awake patients reduced intubation rates but not mortality, while a postdischarge study estimated that about 11% of patients hospitalized for COVID-19 could have residual lung abnormalities.

Oxygenation by helmet, high flow didn't affect mortality in COVID-19, studies find
One trial randomized patients to helmet noninvasive ventilation or usual forms of respiratory support and found no differences. Another comparing high-flow and standard oxygen found a decrease in intubation rate with the former, but no change in any other outcome.

Oral antibiotics after incomplete IV therapy showed benefit in patients with history of injection drug use
Among persons who inject drugs who were hospitalized with complicated Staphylococcus aureus bloodstream infections, those who received oral antibiotics after an incomplete IV antibiotic course were significantly less likely to experience microbiologic failure or death than patients discharged without oral antibiotics.
